BREAKING: The Trump Administration Seeks Military Costumes for Parade
Military Might, Political Pageantry and Hollywood Collide
According to sources familiar with the matter, the Trump administration has sought to acquire approximately 2,000 historical military costumes for Saturday's parade in Washington, D.C. commemorating the Army's 250th birthday. Multiple individuals allege the Motion Picture Costuming Company (MPCC), a Hollywood-based firm known for supplying wardrobe to major film productions, has agreed to fulfill most of the order.
As first reported on The Don Lemon Show on YouTube, the costumes are said to represent the evolution of U.S. military fatigues — from the Revolutionary War through modern-day combat gear. In addition, the administration is allegedly seeking actors to wear the uniforms and participate in the parade, further blurring the lines between commemoration and political spectacle. Costume designers are said to be currently in Washington fitting some 1,500 parade marchers. MPCC declined to comment.
The theatrical plan comes amid increasing controversy over the nature and purpose of the parade. Initially framed as a patriotic display honoring U.S. armed forces, critics say the event is shaping up to be political pageantry designed to bolster President Trump's image on his birthday.
The idea of a grand military parade has long been a fascination for Trump, who first floated the concept after witnessing France's Bastille Day celebration in 2017. Despite pushback over the cost and the optics of tanks rolling through the streets of Washington, the administration has repeatedly attempted to organize large-scale patriotic displays, often with strong overtones of martial power.
On Tuesday, Trump issued a stern warning to those considering protesting the parade. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump asserted any demonstrators who "hate our country" would be met with "very heavy force."
